Dalip Singh, better known as “The Great Khali” to his WWE fans, stands at 7ft 3in and weighs 420 pounds. The ringname comes from the Hindu goddess Kālī, who is said to be a destructive ruler.

Singh became the first Indian professional wrestler to be signed by WWE on January 2, 2006. His bio on WWE notes,

“This enormous monster has walked the jungles of India unafraid of pythons and wrestled White Bengal tigers. Legend states that the Punjabi Warrior has ‘stared into the abyss and the earth trembled at his gaze.'”

In his short time at WWE, he has already been crowned World Heavyweight Champion–an honor accomplished by a select few that puts him in the same league as Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and the Undertaker.

Well, actually, he pummeled the Undertaker on two separate occassions. You can watch it here. He even executes his signature moves: “The Khali Bomb” and “The Khali Vice Grip.”

The Great Khali is also a Hollywood movie star–he’s in the new movie Get Smart and also starred in 2005’s The Longest Yard alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. BBC has also reported that Singh is back in India shooting a documentary on his life. The Great Khali was spotted at the age of 15 by a senior Punjab police official and joined the police force as a constable. He is also a powerlifter who won Mr. India in 1995 and 1996.
