Film producer Jessica Yu is expected to have her film Ping Pong Playa hits American audiences next month.

Did you know that she first stumbled upon film production when looking for a flexible job to attend  fencing competitions?

Jessica was a member of the 1986 USA National Fencing Team and participated in the 1983, 1985, and 1987 US Olympic Festival.

She graduated Yale University, Phi Beta Kappa, Summa Cum Laude, with a B.A. in English.

One of her role models?

Writer/artist Henry Darger, whom she featured in a film. Darger has become famous for his posthumously discovered 15,145-page fantasy manuscript called The Story of the Vivian Girls, in What is known as the Realms of the Unreal, of the Glandeco-Angelinnian War Storm, Caused by the Child Slave Rebellion, along with several hundred drawings and watercolor paintings illustrating the story. Darger’s work has become one of the most celebrated examples of outsider art.
